Numbers
Found these numbers stamped on the engine. I know the engine has been modified and I believe these number have something to do with this. But what do they actually mean?

Re: Numbers
The 1002 may be the job or invoice #.

Re: Numbers
I was contacted today by Brett Simms Motor Sport (Ex Longman employee) who confirmed the numbers on the head mean that this work was carried out by Richard Longman & Co in 1976.
The following was confirmed:
Number 1002 is the head number which all details of valve sizes, springs ,chamber volume and customer name and date when done
1002 is a GT 6 road head
1.405 inlets
1.150 exhaust
road spec springs
The second number is chamber volume
The third number is the amount skimmed off.
