Chrome
Anyone got any ideas why my there is so much chrome on my engine? It has a chrome rocker cover, servo and wiper motor? it was suggested that it might be a motor-show car. it was built in mach 1971 and sold to the fist owner in July (just has production ended. Someone could have just put these parts on but I can't find any suppliers of chrome servos and wiper motors?

Re: Chrome
It might just be the 1970's version of 'Smiffy's Bits'. Around here it was very common to have all sorts of stuff blinged up with chrome. It was pretty easy to take in a bunch of bracketry and sundry bits of sheet metal and have it come back all shiny.

Re: Chrome
There used to be a lot of chroming of all sorts of items done in the Portsmouth area
both domestic and auto, unfortunately HMS Chrome is no more since the dockyard
has shrunk considerably.
