Removing LCB tip

This has always been a job that I have looked forward to with some trepidation as many years of hammering away at the y-piece to separate the downpipes has left me mentally if not physically scarred.
First thing to say is that it always helps to have a willing accomplice to tug and wriggle the exhaust from the rear of the car once the joint begins to budge.
Whilst the clamp at the rear of the y-piece is a handy point for your accomplice to clout the exhaust section backwards it helps if you can simultaneously strike the downpipe in the opposite direction to maximise the chance of separation of the joint. This time I hit upon the idea of attaching an old exhaust clamp around one of the downpipes forward of the joint giving a handy point to clout the downpipe forwards - worked a treat.
