Newton were tasked with the front seats and really pleased with the outcome. I'll be swapping the covers on the rears so fingers crossed they come out just as good.

Those seats look great, just need to break them in a bit.

I found Newtons service to be excellent when they did my Mini Sprite seats. It took just over a fortnight for them to come back after they were collected.

BIG UPDATE TIME

Finally I can at last say the car has been painted :D , its taken sooo much longer than expected and as this is the only part of the resto being given to a 3rd party its a shame that its this that has been the bit that has held things up :( .

But saying that the end result is really really good and in time I suppose ultimately thats all that matters as once its on the road the past few months will soon become irelevant and its the quaility of the job that will be seen going forward.

And heres the final result :)

And whilst I was there today Dad showed me the number plates which he'd refurbished whilst still using the original individual characters that had been stored in a box for many many years. They look awesome, if i do say so myself 8-) .

Got a few more days off from work this week so will can put a few more hours in following todays work of removing the front subframe, stripping down ready for dropping off at the powder coaters first thing tomorrow morning.

Hopefully updates will be a bit quicker from now on......

Looking very nice. I ordered a set of Newton upholstery and carpest during their end of year special. I ordered before the special cut-off date but they were slow to respond to e-mails and by the time they got my order the special had expired. I thought I would have missed out but they honoured the special. Nothing was a problem and they were good to deal with. Prompt supply too !

This wee project looks awesome - I love this bit of a project once you have a nice rust free body with lovely fresh and clean paintwork.

Subframes are all in bits currently being reconditioned so in the meantime started putting things back together on the body, amazing how much time some things take when you want them to fit properly and/or you realise that you're in need of certain grommets and nuts/screws etc as you realise the originals are perished/rusted or generally grotty.

Good fun though and nice to see things coming together :D

Few more pics

First up, massive thanks to forum member 'towners' who came to my rescure when I called for a decent replacement Morris horn push. As you can see my old one to the right of the picture was crazed and faded. Replacement recieved to the left, very happy, cheers 'towners' :D

Front end looking good

Front windows all fitted

Rear 1/4 windows fitted.
This side all good but having issues on the passenger side trying to get it to fit so bit more fiddling required on that one :?

Subframes almost complete along with more additions inside so coming along nicely and will keep the pics coming.

Looking very nice indeed. 8-)
Must be very gratifying putting all the new bits on and seeing the end product finally coming to fruition.

You're not wrong, really good to see it coming back together, trying to use as much of the original parts as sensibly possible by either re-chroming, painting etc. but amazing how all the parts still need time to tweak and jiggle to make fit properly. Worth it though to get a good finish overall. 8-)

Yes, water pump pulley should be yellow.

Are those new or reconditioned plates?

Water pump pulley has indeed now been powder coated yellow to match the fan. Will get a pic of the engine now its fully assembled with the rad etc ready for fitment.

Number plates are the original letters that have been prepped and re-painted but had to purchase new backing plates as the originals were bent and distorted. Had to drill all the new peg holes for each of the letters and then they are held on from behind with starlock fastners.
