It seems from reading this that there is a large Mini and Cooper following in Holland. Is that correct? I dreive through quite often, from Brugges to Dusseldorf. Any Mini Cooper owners living along that route? Stop off for a chat and coffee?

Of course there is a large Mini and Cooper following in the Netherlands, GB is not the only country

The Mk1 & Mk 2 Classic Mini's are a bit rare but the Mk3 and the rest is well available but not active on this forum

I wouldn't say large, but we've seen some nice resurrections of old minis over the past years. The mk3's are turning into plague recently
But of course you're more than welcome for a cupper. Although it's slightly off centre for you (near Utrecht).

More then welcome for coffee (although like Germt nog completely en route). The community of 60s and early 70’s mini’s is quite small compared to the later models. At most shows organized by the Dutch mini club there Is less then 5% of the older models. But we see an increasing interest and can almost organize a Dutch mk1 performance day

Someone is getting regrets about not being part of the latest development?

Yes the Mk3 from 1970 1975 are getting more interest because
original Mk1 and Mk 2 models are very rare and hard to find now in the Netherlands.

Now and then one is found because the old people are leaving there house, but if the
new owner of the Mini has nothing with it the chance is the car goes to a scrap yard.

My 1973 BL Mini Mk3 was very lucky, it was bought by an Mini fan who restored it 10 years ago.

You are always welcome to get a coffee overhere! I am living near Gorinchem, which is not en route, but you never know

What are the conditions for those old blue/white Dutch number plates Jebo?

Well your car must be before 31-12-1977 to use those bleu licence plates.

And do you get any concessions for an older car. Cheaper tax etc like here in England

If your classic car is 40 years old you do not have to pay roadtax anymore
And if it is before 1959 there is no need any more for the APK ( M.O.T ).

As far as I know ther is one 1959 Mk1 Mini original sold in that year
over here in the Nethelands. So no APK and no roadtax.
