That looks stunning.
Takes me back to my first Mini, a '71 850 in flame red with black and chrome reverse rims. Mine had the fresh air vents in the floor and seat squad though, lots of rust.......!

That's a lovely car!
Nice to see some Portuguese made tyres
, these are no longer available.
May i ask from where you bought the extra engine steady ?
i have a similar one in my car.... but i forgot from where i bought it
and they are much nicer than the ones bolting on the thermo housing.
Cheers
Luis

Thank you all for the positive comments and good to hear it makes some people jealous or bringing back memories!
@Luis, I am not sure either, but believe it to be this one:

Especially with a magic wand, I wanted the engine to rock a little bit less

That is a great looking car
I've never owned a Mini as new as that but with the prices of Mk1s and Mk2s now so high, an early Mk3 must be the next best thing
. Well done!

I take pride in a lower-rung model and making my dream mini out of it - a period correct 1970 clubracer
In the end restorations can cost a lot of money (regardless of being it a MK! or MK3) when built to a high standard and then an Mk3 is less of a sound investment to be honest, but I I built it to enjoy and drive!

Your Mk3 is a work of art Jebo. It is always a pleasure to see the work of a craftsman

Great pics.. it has to be said a nice looking sleeper with the extra power.. as always its nice to know what it can do speed and BHP wise..???...the power to weight ratio in a beefed up mini can be startllng..jus like the handling ……. that's whats always made minis soooo much fun .. foxy52

The engine specs with the SW8 cam really pulls from low revs and haven's had it above 4k revs (run in the engine a bit first), but feels like there is a lot more to come.
Still needs to go on the rollers for final adjustments and numbers, but I can already tell it is a lot of fun
