OK, some minor changes to the plan but it's all systems go for a Mk1 performance Action Day, Blyton Park, Sunday May 4th 2014 !!

Javelin Track Days will be running the event (http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/ ) and we can all book through them once booking has opened (Paypal if preferred). The cost will be £129 for a full day's track action This will be a Mini only day with the emphasis on early cars but obviously all minis/variants are welcome. All Mini/variant/deviant owners are also welcome to come along and display their cars for free on the day and we will have prizes for the best cars to be judged by a well known Mini racing veteran. Club displays also welcome and I have some very special, rarely seen cars coming along on the day as well as a couple of famous motorsport personalities from the 60's.

http://www.blytonpark.co.uk/

We can run the day how we want to, open pit or timed session, or a combination of the two. We can camp over Saturday (and maybe Sunday) and with Bank Holiday Monday the day after this takes the pressure off (with the Mrs !)

Helmet hire is available, track tuition, etc.

It's all good ! Just get those cars ready for May 4th, see you all there ! :D

Woo Hoo!

Well done Pete, this is exactly what we were hoping for!

I will certainly be putting my name down as soon as booking opens & will be bringing the Sprint & possibly my 850 too, sadly there is no hope of me being able to get the Speedwell Car finished in time.

Hopefully this will be the first of many excellent MK1 Perf Cons events.

Pete, that's absolutely amazing news! I really hope to make it down, although i doubt my new unexpected acquisition will be ready!

Many thanks on your efforts, I would love to be there if at least I am only spectating and not participating on the track... I am most grateful for all efforts made by forum members to make this a reality!

No but they get a lot of showers in Gainsborough. ;)

Fnar fnar ......

I'll find out when booking opens and report back. Hope everyone will make the effort to come, it'll be well worth it !! And..it'll be great to put some faces to some names. Extra drivers for each car cost £20 by the way.

I'll be adding lots of updates to this thread as I get news of developments. I've been promised some very special cars for this. :)

May the 4th be with you.

If it's the same one i'm thinking of, ie. last in super mighty mini's. I'll go two seconds a lap quicker than or i'll let him off the sixty five quid he owes me..........
