4th gear not required now, unless you're packing an ultra close ratio box.

I'm still waiting for an answer from Javelin but it looks like we'll be using the old circuit for our day as there's a limit on cars for the new one. That might be no bad thing with 50 odd cars.
Can I also ask those on the 'entry list' to PM or email me with their car details (type, colour and reg number) and where you're from so I can form a definative list and so we know who's who on the day.
There'll be a professional photographer there on the day on circuit and Stu I'm still waiting to see where you'll be able to wander and take snaps.
Classic Car Weekly will be covering the event along with the glossy Mini titles.
If you look at the above site plan you can see the camping area (payable on the day), part of the grassed area between the huge barn and the paddock road will be for special display cars and clubs such as MCR, '59 Register and a Maximum Mini display. All early Minis will be parked in a nice row along the edge of the paddock road facing the grassed area. The rest of the paddock is for track cars and there's plenty of space.
Once I've got a defintive list of cars I'll post it up but safe to say there are going to be some big surprises.

I've not read the whole thread yet but I'm planning on coming along in my Mk2 S now I know I'm not working that weekend - not to take part on the track but as a spectator / punter... is there a seperate entrance fee for this chaps?
Apologies if I've completely missed any mention of it / lost the plot!

Just putting together the track entry list, it's amazing where you all come from, literally every corner of the UK, several entrants from the continent, U.S, we're definitely going to have to have an award for furthest travelled !

Seeing as I'm expecting some special cars and people I'm talking to somebody about making a DVD of the day's activities, this could include any 'in car' you lot have planned .

I have asked my brother, who lives in the UK, to join us, and he is more than happy to do so.
He is a professional filmer and will bring his camera gear with the idea to make a little movie. Probably just a few minutes, but it will be of good quality.

That is great news!
It would make a great addition to the MK1 site to promote events in the future.

I started reading through, then realised there's 30odd pages.... So I give up...
Are all the places full?
Can I still come and gawp at all the cars!!? Looks like there will be plenty to gawp at!!
Seems daft for me not to come, being so close and all!
don't know what I'd bring!!?

Hi Ed,
Yes, all the track places are booked up, with quite a waiting list to boot.
However everyone is welcome to come and see whats going on, it will be a great day if you are on the track or not on the track. Entrance for non Track day participants is free, but we are taking a collection at the gate for Mission Motorsport (the armed services motorsport charity).
Look forward to seeing you there.

is there a black market for track passes?
I've already got one, and I know a couple of others up here in Scotland have some as well...however, you know what these cars are like and there is always a possibility that on the day, the car is incapacitated and therefore cannot go on the track.
If that is the case, are we able to do something with the track pass that we have bought? Or does it now become void and there will just be one less car on the track?
It would be good if we are allowed to sell on the pass (or if we feel really generous, GIVE it away!).
thnx.
Ben
