about right money i would say for one thats been festering for years, loads of them are getting broken as they cost so much to put right - they just dont like been stood and if its been stood damp the wood and leather inside just falls to bits

they are crap as well as they are un turboed, so must be right slugs

have a look on flying spares website at the cars they break, it really doenst take much for them to be considered to be uneconomic to do up

Some interesting prices through; the 840Ci for £5500, the gold 380SL and the green 230E Merc - all way less than the fortunes we're told they're worth - and suckers have been paying.

Isn’t this “previous owner was....” a bit irrelevant, if its been fully restored?

Fair enough, if original interior etc, but other wise, it meaningless IMHO .

It's been restored back to the condition, colour and spec it was in when Rod bought it new, the current owner bought it from Amari in Preston, they bought it from the previous owner who painted it blue and changed the spec.

Interestingly, if it was Paul McCartney who owned the 400GT they are selling as 'potentially' his (in itself a very odd turn of phrase), Linda forgot to put on the handbrake, and it rolled into his pond. He sold it shortly afterwards, and I seem to recall him quoted as saying he wasn't sure it was worth pulling out of there. if it was deeper he'd have left it!

In my eyes this distances the car even further from Rod. For me to value a cars connection with a person, they would have to of potentially touched the surfaces (seats, paint, interior) as they exist now - sounds a bit weird, but sure you get the idea :?

I'm sure if you carried out a detailed forensic inspection you would find some of Rod's DNA in there somewhere

I agree, sort of.... all of the major components, chassis and body panels on the car are the originals though ;)

That sold a couple of years ago, didn't it?

It looks very nice except for those awful bonnet stripes.
