It keeps out the dreamers and tyre kickers and prevents crowds and let’s face it if you’re seriously looking to bid £50 is just loose change, but I do think Pete that you will be entitled to a free ‘un seeing as you’re an entrant, then when you’ve looked take it outside and flog it for £25.

Haha, yes I’ve got a catalogue. To be fair to Bonhams it’s beautifully done and features a great variety of cars this year. I did insist I wrote my own description!

Still not seen an entry list for the races!

All 3 days for me, Friday parked in the pre-66 car park, Sat and Sun on the Lavant bank, come by and say hello if you are passing, we have plenty of Champagne and we can get you into the bank if you can attract my attention, shouting rather than throwing stones is prefferable.

Tweed Grey Pickup.

We'll come and say 'hello'. It'll be nice to see a JP without cricking my neck looking at the one up onbthd wall in the National museum on Chambers St!

This is an interesting video from the Duke, wonder who or what prompted such a public talk ?

I think he told you, sounds like someone got bullied into keeping quiet and he found out.

That is quite a departure for the Duke. Bit of a can of worms really isn’t it that’s been simmering for years. Getting engineers to stand still isn’t easy and development with particular cars really has come on in leaps and bounds. The real challenge is going to be forcing that genie back into the bottle, and Minis aren’t exactly exempt from this they just had a bit of a head start but so many historic cars have shot ahead in terms of development, some not so much. It’s how you stop it is the problem.

Absolutely Pete, I was looking at the entry lists to see if any obvious omissions but nothing jumping out …biggest change is probably in the above, a large number of American muscle and 6 Alfa’s…outnumbering Lotus Cortinas must be a first !

I would put money on this being the route of the issue....EDIT I did put a bit more info, but thought better of it, as really, just a guess on my part.. ;)

Go on I’m interested, in a period correct field the quickest car at Goodwood should be a Galaxie by quite some margin.

Its more to do with who is running the cars, their characters and whether they are likely to be cheating....too speculative to write down

Whilst I absolutely applaud the sentiment of the video posted on Youtube, I can't help but feel that there is a large dollop of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

I can only assume that there has been some huge scandal that has been successfully hushed up.

As is usually the case, does the strict eligibility of the cars competing matter to 99.9% of the people watching, I doubt it.

I just hope that all those attending & competing have a marvellous time.

Yes sadly the Minis were vanquished again but only because it rained at the wrong times and not through lack of effort! What a shame Colburn retired because he even had the legs on Swifty! Great weekend despite the weather and good to hook up with a few off here!
