Some nice period touches on it too with the Ritmo dash top and 'newfangled' reflective raised digit plates. Hope you manage to get it running ok, it would be nice to see another Mk2 at a few shows
Edit : I wonder if there's any history with it... 'PH' is a Surrey marker and the Mann Egerton label on the plates might help...?
its a 2 owner
miss Phyllis Shiplee ..London sw15.... bought of Mann Egerton
Mr Alec Goss chelmsford
the latter lived next to the Kennings on Baddow rd Chelmsford, so I recon it was sold to him by them.

I might give her a ring tomorrow
Why not Nick ?!
I did exactly that with my ‘60 and the original owner still had the original bill of sale and passed it on to me and lots of other information about his families 18 year ownership. Sadly he passed away earlier this year but we remained friends for many years.

A 1964 1071S that was restored up here came with the old green logbook. The first owner was a builder in Surrey. 192.com gave me the phone number so I rang it, and he was still there albeit quite old. He had the car 1 year and traded it for a Lotus Cortina.
Although a subsequent owner of that same car was SERIOUSLY pissed off when I called her and said I owned her car ... See, she gave it to the local Fire Brigade to use in a demonstration at a fete of how to put fires out (and probably cutting rooves off). A local classic car restorer saw it and thought it was far to good to destroy, so he managed to persuade the fire officer not to trash it and he bought it off them.
Needless to say, that phone conversation didn't last too long
I've recently purchased a mk1 850 Auto, my concern is the lack of gearbox parts apparently, so if it does break I think ill be sticking a bigger engine and manual box in so its more useable. But just enjoy it if it runs ok.

With the amount of auto/hybrid/cooper s cars in existence .....I recon there are plenty of low mileage auto engine&boxes kicking about under peoples benches .
the Auto mini was one of the first real 4 speed automatic car produced...and one of the most technically advanced cars Bmc ever made. I believe they are reliable if the oil is regularly change and driven sensibly...and know of one that had 90k on the clock and was still going strong.
one of the future collectors holy grails....but I would say this would'nt I
I have an auto engine in the lock-up taking up needed space if anyone is interested.
The outputs from the diff have been removed otherwise all complete.
