Would you use bigger ones if you could?

What did the guys use back in the 60ies on the Ardens?

Honestly - I don't know if I need to go bigger yet, the same setup ran well before on another 1380 but using a 296 cam.
I'll get this sorted out first then go from there. :D

did 40 miles today, the only time it stopped was when I stopped it to reconnect the temp gauge wire :)

Had a nice blast down the back lines on the way back from Carlisle, off to the Cumbria Classic Show tomorrow. :D

Pendragon Rally Spectator Stage Club display today, had a minor problem..fuel bowl float or something stuck on carb no2 and it was pissing fuel out, we ran it dry, massaged the side of the carb with a persuasion stick and all was well again, I don't think it can of been crap in the fuel - it goes through 3 filters before it gets to the carbs :?:
Also last night i swapped to points - to get my rev counter to work properly (RVI type  ), it still reads high and the car runs worse

I had a similar problem with H4's years ago with fuel urinating everywhere.
The fault was the Brass float which had decided to spring a leak, filled up with petrol and eventually didn't float.
Luckily my local Leyland garage (remember them.?) had one in stock.

Hey RS,

thats some project you have there 8-) reading through your posts took me back to 4 in the morning, some years back, when I started the turbo,
boy was I exited, and all the fumes from varius paint, and oil on all the rebuild parts, its a moment to cherish ;) dont get much better.
keep up the good work.

Long time no see Rich.

I wondered what you had done with that green one, looks good.

Are you thinking of doing Croft this year? It was a good weekend last year and this year should be better.

Yes, it would be good to get more than a quarter of the way there!
Is there a date set for it yet?

It's on the 6th and 7th of August this year. The Newcastle and Durham region of the MCR are already planning on having a display again, as everyone wants another go round the track.
