It was fitted from 59 to 69?
But not all cars had it on the edge of the rear seat pan.
Early Super,s & Cooper,s had a 2to 3 inch "deeper" seat padding that extended out over the seat pan.
These had a Black U shaped metal rail, glued under the padding, this was a push fit over the edge, where this Grey plastic trim usually sit.
The Black metal rail was held in place by a pair of metal clips.

Hi guys,
I got both the door and rear seat strip from 7ent (USA), mentioned by Nicholas back on the first page of this post. I have a hunch it is a bit softer than the original but good anyway.
