Ive just read all the comments on the previous page! :o Bloody hell, its means alot coming from you guys that know what your doing...unlike me! Its really nothing that special though, and by no means a show winner.

Engine is nearly ready to go in.

Has anyone got any tips for fitting the head lining? It seems to get stuck the last 5mm or so and I can't seem to slide it back any further without the frame bending? :?

Well vasaline helped it slip right in without any chafing. :D

The problem I have now is that the clips on the front section don't quite locate in the hooks of the rear section, despite both halves being in the right position? :?

One of my rear quarter window frames broke last night, when i tried to fit it. I can't think of a way to repair it at the moment either.

Yes, I thought it looked very forced induction also.

Just kidding, although im sure it would surprise a few people. :D

That engine in is my other mini. Its the BMW K1100 cylinder head off a motorbike, and turbo'd too. There are a fair few of them about these days, and makes for a nice smooth drivable engine.

This is the whole setup.

It shouldn't of, they were fresh on last year! The cam cover is slightly sloped towards the belt side, so it could be that, that makes it looked slumped. ;)

Nice one 8-) so I am not the only one with a Turbo inhere ;)

Good progress on the Red MK I.
Btw did you remember to spray the roof, with waxoyl or some simelar, before fitting the headlining?

I actually put 2 coats of paint on the inside of the roof, so hopefully it'll be ok.

I have been thinking about waxoyling the inside of the crossmember though, just trying to work out whether its possible to get enough in there to make it worth while?

Definitely worth waxoiling the cross member & the sills too. I also do down the A & B posts too.

To get in the sills I drill a couple of holes in the inner sills, use them a "magic wand" access & stick a couple of grommets in the holes when I have finished.

Will-h had told me about your K1000 engine, I was just hoping that you'd give us the SP on it as I believe it goes "quite well"

Yes I agree A & B post, but also the rear companion boxes, before you fit the liner.

the very best thing to do, is go back, and check the before pictures, then you know where to spray.
