Re: At The Auctions
My favourite part of this car has to be the bottom of the A panels where they meet the door step.
I wonder if this body resto was paid for ie 'professionally' done or if it was an enthusiast?

Re: At The Auctions

Windscreen demister vent pipes external to dash liners is a new early feature for me...

As has been pointed out this '59 Mini has a few problem areas to say the least...I would worry what else was under that shiny modern paint finish unless the price reflected that high risk....plus there are probably many more problems to be found that can't be seen just by zooming in on the photos.
Hard to tell from photos but according to the 1959 Mini Register factory roof gutter drip rails appeared in May 1960 but pop riveted drip rails could be retro fitted by dealers and these look different to the factory type with the rivets visible:-

A genuine Neville Trickett original Siva Edwardian is currently being offered by Mathewson's.
Not everyone's cup of tea, but Nev did quite a few of these in the early 70's. Most notably for Dr Who.

Re: At The Auctions
I do like that! Very much the look we're going for with ours but the engine spec is a bit more exotic on ours.InnoCooperExport wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2023 9:32 pm Maybe this had been posted before, apologies if so. But this is rather brilliant

Re: At The Auctions
It sold for 12,750 bit of a bargain I suspect.

Re: At The Auctions
That looks a good car to buy and use doesn't it. Even if he has left the door pull cords on and left the overriders off. I think it looks great. It'll be interesting to see what that makes at auction.

Re: At The Auctions
ON FB , quite a nice unmolested 850 - price is bit optimistic, unless shell is better than it looks....

Re: At The Auctions
Needs a lot of bodywork I reckon. Nice original spec though isn't it? It's on ebay as well. Auction is upto £3,000 so far - reserve not met.
It would be a mistake to underestimate the cost of restoring a car like this I'm afraid.

Re: At The Auctions
I agree. That is MUCH less than the cost of creating such a car! I'd be glad to own that.

Re: At The Auctions
I'm normally not one for extra trims etc, but that Aussie 850 looks very smart and unusual.
