Well after pondering for the last year or so I have I decided to sell UPR and put her on eBay. I know I will regret it but apparently my daughters education comes first, well thats what my wife says anyway
UPR 65 1963 MK1 Super Deluxe
FTX 217K 1971 MK3 Cooper S
I almost made UPR into a track car, but it escaped! Luckily! I had it in bits (not the first time it's been stripped) and it really is a stonking car BUT anyone buying at that price wants their heads feeling.
Interesting story about the original owner not taking the car out in the rain, that's news to me!
I met the third owner at a car show in 2011, he was offering me money to get the car back as he had to sell it to finance his daughters wedding. He thinks (or thought) the original history was with the second owner.
Oh, and another thing, is it worth that much. I know the body has only had one bit of welding as far as I could see, and most of the paint is original, but £18000+, that's good Mk2 Cooper money.
