And here is the Minilite version

I have some of the 165 prototypes due to evalutate on 6 EMO on the Ilkley Jubilee HRCR rally next month, running as course car, if all goes to plan these will be the tyre for our 2019 RAC Rally of the Tests.

I’m going to pop in tomorrow and get two for 882’s and 2 for original cosmics and maybe follow up with a full set for each!
I saw Smokegrey’s comment about the 165’s as evaluating for the Rally if the Tests. Are Blockley getting them approved by the MSA or whatever it is branded now?

This is the prototype tyre, 165, will be using them this weekend on a historic rally. Will report back, done 130 road miles on them yesterday, all good so far.

I used a set of prototype 165 Blockleys last Sunday on a historic rally. Findings are, as recommended by Julian at Blockleys I put 100 plus road miles on them to 'settle' them in.

The first competitive test was on loose dusty fine gravel and the traction was very good, much better than say a A008. On to tests on concrete and tarmac and there was more understeer and a fair bit of smoke and squealing! As the tyres got more use things improved, and on normal twisty A and B roads they were very good. The tyre wall is quite soft, which helps comfort. I would say for road use you would very rarely explore their limits. I have some 145s on my own car which seem stiffer on the sidewalls, but I have as yet not driven hard on them.

Seriously considering a set for 145's for HOY's 3 1/2" rims and 165's for the 'S', so any reviews here greatly appreciated. Again thanks Steve.

That said it'll be a couple of years at least away for HOY.

I only noticed this thread today. I ordered a set of falkens to get my mini back on the road. They arrived today! I'll see how I get on with them but I'll definitely keep these in mind.

I've just had the mini spares repro S 3.5 inch wheels and 145 blockley tyre combination balanced today . Had a set of five balanced and they have all ended up with approx 35 grams inside and 60 grams outside of knock on weight added to balance them . It's certainly spoilt the look of the wheels for me . Silver weights on white rims . I could of course paint the weights white. What doesn't help it is the size of the new weights . Anyone else had this issue with this wheel / tyre combo ? ..... ken

I’ve said before I find them very heavy on the jags, good in the wet..
Did you try rotating the tyre on the rim?

Hi Ken
Our balancer has a setting for alloy wheels where the weight position is calculated so they can be stuck on the inside of the wheel .
Cant see why it couldnt be done on a steel wheel.
