Straight cut gearboxes

Post by mk1coopers »

A bit of information required from the extensive collective knowledge on the forum :), what are the various options for running SCCR gearkits in the 22G 1128 4 syncro remote casing (if possible without mods to the box or shaft), what quality are the gearkits out there now?

I'm using the minispares C-AJJ4014 gear kit, they are meant to be the sturdiest syncro set currently available. fits without any mods, unless you want to fit a pinion support.

I'd maybe drop John at http://www.guess-works.com/ a line, he knows his gear boxes inside out

Thanks Tom, we would have gone with Jack Knight parts, but it looks like they might not be up to scratch anymore, there are some interesting threads on various forums with a lot of dissapointed people who don't have their money or their gearsets, (including a guy in Hungary saying he has been making their parts and has not been paid) a real shame considering the reputation they used to have.

MINISPORT - stay the fk away from them...had nothing but problems with mine you might as well use a jam roly poly and stick some chocolate fingers round the perimeter.. In fact you would probably manage to travel further using that method...or maybe wind some spaghetti round an old wet bog wipe tube, use a kendal mint cake to make the bronze bushes from, jus make sure you get the gold foil covered chocolate gears not the silver ones, they have a higher melting point

Junk Junk and Junk....(im a little vexed with them as you may be able to tell)

Thanks for all the info, a Minispares set plus all that goes with it has been ordered :), PAD4 I've been told about the Msport sets, looks like they are very brittle, ones to add to the avoid list!

Didn't they use these on the New Fabia in that advert?
