Petrol Tank Hose

Post by Macker2 »

Evening all,
I have been trying to fit the flexible pipe from the tank outlet to the pump this afternoon, but the nipple on the tank seems a bit big to go down the ID of the tube. Keeps splitting.
I was wandering if there was an adapter on their originally, or is there larger bore tubing available.
Or maybe just a knack to fitting it, it's doin me head in.

What bore pipe do you have? Fitted mine today with braided 1/4'' hose would have been much easier with the tank on the bench and/or boot lid removed. Shame the blasted fuel pump wouldn't run after wards despite being bench tested at least 10 times...

Oh hot water, fairy and swearing seemed to help.

Thanks,
I have 1/4 bore rubber stainless sheathed pipe. I will have a go at warming it up.
Tried the swearing, maybe wasn't doing it loud enough.
Interesting that your pump didn't work on the car. I tried mine with a battery charger before I fitted it but haven't tried it on the car yet.

Frustratingly I also tried mine first having rebuilt it. It ran fine on the bench and it's getting power in the right place. Bloomin thing.
