boot floor complete panel
Hi peeps,
i'm looking to buy a new boot floor for my mk1 mini.
Both M machine and Heritage list it but M Machine's panel is the more expensive. What difference is there between the two, which one would you go for??

Re: boot floor complete panel
The m machine panel is heritage but it's detailed back to how the mk1 (or whatever you specify) should be. Example, they put the spare wheel clamp on, the block off the fuel pipe piercings for the mpi system and I think he tank stand is different.
I got it for my car because I have a restorer working on that isn't a dedicated mini anorak and I'd have had to pay them to modify the heritage floor anyway. Seemed to make sense.

Re: boot floor complete panel
Many thanks for the replies Mr davies & mk1
I think i will be going for the heritage panel most likely
The difference between the two is quite alot, around £100.
I can swop my spare wheel boss, tank stand bracket and weld fuel line holes up no problem. Im expecting to cut out a section under the rear seat pan to bring it to mk1 spec, see Matty mk1 restoration race car to road car, a fantastic thread
I've found this mk1 forum absolutely brilliant, even for small detail things and i know im going to find even more brill things to come with more research.
cheers guys

Re: boot floor complete panel
unless its an anorack car, i.e its one you are just using and enjoying then I wouldn't bother with the extra expense.
once the tank is in you don't see the main area of modification and the 'mpi hole' is not a huge problem once the rubber bung is fitted.
I would just fit the spare wheel boss so it looks correct when people peer into the boot!

Re: boot floor complete panel
Morning 1071bob, thank you for the picture.
I've just been and checked my battery box and and there is one hole per lug at each end of the battery box, well whats left of it
In 1991/2 i purchased a new battery box for my mini which has sat in the garage all this time, along with alot of other panels, and that also has the one hole set up so i will be fitting that.
Isn't it strange how many small difference's there are when you start looking
With reference to rich@minispares input, i want to try and get this back to as close to original spec has i can, just think of all the fun/hair pulling i can having doing it
Are you at the oldbury branch Rich?
