Hi all
How did you set the float chamber level on h4 when using float extention (x mm under the bridge/jet?), first Time i use these extention and the carb overflow because level is too high, carb have T2 20 dégrée chamber
Also Wath needle are you using on, my engine is 1293 race spec, sw23 cam, race head, stg3 Lcb and race maniflow system, similar to app k race mini, i have BG With blue spring fitted at the moment but not drived the car yet

Re: H4 float level
Your BG needle should be correct.
As I understand it those silly float chamber extensions were made FOR RACING & the way you set the float level is by stopping the car & allowing the excess petrol to run away. Once the float level & the jet level are equal, they stop leaking.

Re: H4 float level
Just checked on a customer car With the same extention but With correct 30 dégrée float, the fuel is 5 mm under the carb body bridge, these soins normal to you?
On my car, the engine is running really rich and fuel is pushed out of the carb, running good when i remove the extention

Re: H4 float level
If I was you I'd remove the extensions. They are only of any use whatsoever when pulling extreme G while racing.

Re: H4 float level
When I was racing using twin H4's I NEVER needed these float extensions. I know some who do use them & many who don't.

Re: H4 float level
to get around the fuel starvation when covering with my single H4. I ended up using the float to of an H1 carb, works like a charm, it is just that little bit smaller in diameter
never argue with a fool, they'll only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience
