Re: '65 Super Deluxe...
Plastic window catches came in May 1963!
Heater's also wrong for a '65. Could well be a Mk2 from that photo or just a combination of parts, lots of later parts there though as Simon says.
Does it have the larger rectangular rear lamps Rich??

I am pretty confident it has the smaller mk1 rear lights (assuming the mk2 lights are the same as much later minis)Pete wrote:Plastic window catches came in May 1963!

It does not surprise that the interior is all newer, it shouldn't even have red interior.
Should the lower dash rail actually be covered in vinyl? Such as around the switches?

Yup. If it's been in pieces and put back together with all different (Mk2) bits you'll need to ignore the interior and look for the other details previously mentioned, and the FE number.

Re: '65 Super Deluxe...
I know the gear lever is a later remote box (and not the 850 magic wand it should have) and I know the indicator switch is a mk2 and has been bodged into the wiring loom poorly. I am currently looking for an average condition mk1 indicator stalk.Simon776 wrote:The seats, indicator switch, speedo binnacle, gear lever are all Mk 2 from what I can see in the picture.
What makes the seats mk2?
What makes the speedo binnacle mk2? (I have seen some w/ and others w/o the 4 exposed fixings...)
Thanks

Something I just thought of, Mk1 has the foot operated headlamp dip switch mounted on the floor.

Re: '65 Super Deluxe...
Right then, fine to decide with some extra pictures taken this morning...
Swivel visors as mentioned earlier in the post.

It does have the holes above the doors, but they look to have bungs fitted at some point...

Finally, the bit I had been waiting for, the FE number... NOTHING that I can see

Am I right in thinking that these 2 photos cover the location where the FE number should be?
Somebody said that the speedo binnacle was a mk2. I didn't know there was a difference, here is a photo anyway...

Finally, here are some close ups of the switch panel, which a number of people have said should help with identification.

Thanks for all your help so far. Hopefully these last few photos can help sort out my identification questions; and maybe I can learn something along the way...
Thanks,
Rich

Re: '65 Super Deluxe...
3rd pic down, you will see a rectangular plate, bottom right on the flitch panel, your FE number is on that, cheers, ian.

Re: '65 Super Deluxe...
Looks like a '65 Delux to me, albeit with some different parts on it, let's have the FE number.

Re: '65 Super Deluxe...
The 3rd pic down looks like the top edge of the radiator cowl unless my eyes are playing up. It doesn't look like the FE plate is attached to the inner wing.

I couldn't see a FE number, I think what you can see is the topnof the radiator cowl.
Any comments on the switch panel. Does it look mk1? Likely to be SDL?
