Post by andrericardo »

Hi guys, i came across this today, the owner says it's an intake manyfold with Mikuni carbs for an 8 port head.

That manifold looks pretty lousy to me. It loses everything the semidowndraught head is supposed to gain.

How's this for a more efficient one.

Yes Astro. With the short trumpets it all fits comfortably.

As I don't plan on racing in FIA events, and there are dozens of other enjoyable race meetings where I can race, I prefer to run it with the long ones. It looks better !!! :) :) :)

With the greatest respect Andre. I find your internet capitalism a bit tiring. Pretty much every mini site on the internet has got your ebay listings on it. Whilst I understand people are struggling and people do have businesses dealing in mini parts, I find your presence irritating.

The rather interesting facebook page for Mk1 minis seems to be 50% of you flogging your stuff. I do not want to have it rammed down my throat.

I'm sorry to come on here and be angry and have a pointy finger, but when I read the words AndreRicardo, I just know it's going to be you flogging some sh t, or asking about information, regarding you flogging your sh t.

I am quite sick of it.

Sorry everyone else

Andre I think what in the she'd is referring to is that you solely use this forum for selling , nothing else . Most of the people selling from this forum ( me included ) contribute to the forum in one way or another . This is done by maybe starting a interesting topic or being helpfull to others and giving advice on a particular subject witch is there skill- set . My name is ken. i try to help forum members with bodywork/ spraying queries . .... Every post from you is about what your selling , so I it was bound to get on some peoples nerves in the end ... Ken

Andre seems to use the rest of the internet for his ebay activities also. I have not seen one thread saying "here is my old mini" or "look what I'm building". €€€€€€€€ and that's it.

I spend thousands of pounds on ebay and I go looking for stuff. I come on here not to look for ebay listings.

To then say "Get a life" is exceedingly poor form. I will bite my tongue.

Despite your 'route one' style I think it's a fair point.

still don't know your name...

maybe you should investigate me a bit harder ;)

I organize Classic car events , shows and fairs, and i created the biggest classic Mini forum in continental europe.
Probably few people in europe have done as much as i for our beloved Minis.

I don't have a skill set useful to help with mechanics, paint restoration etc, therefore it's better to say nothing than to wrong people...

Also i always post sales and technical advice questions in the apropriate places on the forum and have not broken any rules...

thanks everybody, and i'll try to be more helpfull, sorry if i ask too many questions related to value of items , and probably will need the help of you all, as i'm probably going to start a restoration of a MK1 cooper 998 i have.
