brake servo service kits?

Post by evonaut »

does anyone know whether brake servo service kits are available for my servo unit. mini spares have them for a mk3 servo but they don't appear to have them for this model.

it is from a mk2 car that received a mk1 s engine so not entirely sure what the servo is? photos below for clarification.

if kits are not available, what are the chances of this one working correctly? apparently the seals and other rubber bits are all nice and pliable.

many thanks for your expert advice and opinions once again.

The servo pictured is Lockheed 5 1/2 inch as mk1 /mk2 but the most important parts have not been stripped out of the main body , remove circlip and remove 2 seals plus spacers and spring then inspect bore for corrosion check chrome pushrod for surface wear or flaking sometimes these are stainless, air valve diaphragms are not available but main body kits are on ebay at about £15 if it the smaller bore as fitted to mini if it's larger bore it's not mini the banjo. Bolt is not mini as this is where a one way vacuum valve is fitted, look on mini spares site at servo which is nearly in stock there is a link to the valve which is maybe one day poss availible , go to the parts manual section of this site and you should be able to print off exploded view of servo Peter

thank you peter......

have done the usual research and have discovered a few companies that have been very useful with regards to cooper s brake servos, service, refurb, kits etc...... as below:

Power Track Ltd - Classic Lockheed and Girling specialists, advice and service kits aplenty!
Nelson Stokes - Suppliers of service kits.
J and L Spares - Will refurb original units including rebore and line of pitted cylinders.

hope this may come in useful for other forum users!

Search on Alfa Romeo if you can't find it under a Mini search.
