Minispares C-ARA4442 2 core radiator....

Post by sandman »

I've bought a Super 2 core rad from Minispares - part no. C-ARA4442...

Althought the description on the website state that this comes with a brass drainplug, this seems to no longer be the case as the two last ones I've seen looks to share the same bottom tank as C-ARA4443 - but without intread of the fan-switch they got what looks like a plastic (or so it looks to me) plug in the bottom RH/front corner as sen on this alloy version:

Now the big question... will these plastic plugs cope with high performance use? (i.e tarmac-racing) or should I replace it... and if so - with what?
Cheers,

It's cold up here you know :)

Actually I am running water vetter, water and a tad of glycol... but I suspect most others use water and glycol.

Anyway - back to my question; will the plug withstand 21-28 lbs pressure/cap as most (all?) racers use?

the bungs are used in other applications where they are rated to 100psi.

i suspect the hoses would fail long before the bung did!! 8-)
