No,

Although there is overlap with many aspects of the MK1 & MK2 production, I think I can be fairly safe in saying that no MK1's left the factory with wide MK2 style back windows.

Like Mark, I have never seen an original Mk1 with the wider rear window. However there are at least two "Mk1s" advertised on ebay currently which have this feature :o along with the larger hole in the dash rail for the larger Mk2 switch panel and many other small changes..... Doesn't stop their owners asking £8000 - £10000 for them though!

That MUST be the explanation Mark - and as early as 1963 too! :)

Didn't the Elf and hornets get the bigger back windows in 66 when fitted with wind up windows, If so then there could be some back window, and side window glass around with a code saying 66 onwards, that could be confusing if it was sold as mini not Elf/Hornet , Just my thoughts

Elf/Hornet stayed with the small rear window. No change was made with the Mk IIIs.
