Center binnacle MK3
I have removed the centre binnacle today from my mk3 cooper s and I noticed there was no inner binnacle like on the mk1. Is this right for the mk3 or is it missing? hope someone can help??

No inner binnacle gubbins on Mk3's Dean. You'll find it useful to try and find a copy of Parnell's 'Original Mini Cooper' Dean, lots of info about the differences in that.

I have the Somerford Mini Site in my favourites. It is a useful site for finding out which bit were fitted to which cars, and the part numbers.

A bit more information on the different binnacles here :-
http://forum.minicooper.org/forum/mk2-c ... e-binnacle
According to Simon the Mk3 S used the Mk2 type binnacle and the foam insert appeared around 1976.

Most of the foam inserts appeared around 1980 with the advent of the 'Quiet Mini'......see link below.
