Replacing rear subframe

Replacing rear subframe

I am in the process of assisting a friend replace his rear subframe with a new one. Is it advisable to do some welding or strengthening on this new subframe? In one of D. Vizard's early books he shows some gusseting welded on the inside corners of the frame. Just enquiring if anyone has done it, and if so does anyone have pictures?

If the car's just for road use I wouldn't worry. If you intend to rally it that's a different matter.
