Yes, all the cool folk think along those lines.....L7MAD wrote:Thanks Nick that's a great help. Tom I haven't got a project car for it yet but looking along lines of an A40 or Frogeye or if I can find / afford one a Series 1 Lotus Seven would be the ultimate![]()

I'm planning an in-line 998, though at this stage if a decent ready built in line engine came up cheap I'd be keen, if only to move the project along a bit (though I'm skint!)
Should get the body back from the moulders within the week

Re: Inline 1098 engine
I think the problem now is finding some small bore pistons with the larger gudgeon pins used with big bore engines/S rods? Miglia pistons were the 'thing' at that time but long since disappeared I guess. I would love to be proved wrong on this.5portsrock wrote:Hi, any idea what this entailed.? And any potential problems? You just sleeve the small end of the rod.33JOY wrote:I think the problem now is finding some small bore pistons with the larger gudgeon pins used with big bore engines/S rods? Miglia pistons were the 'thing' at that time but long since disappeared I guess. I would love to be proved wrong on this.

Re: Inline 1098 engine
OK, so that's sorted then.
1098 Midget block (2" mains)
1275 crank + 6-bolt flywheel
970 S rods (thinned down and bushed small end) - sorts the 'pistons down the bore' issue
+0.040" 1098 pistons
What can possibly go wrong.....?

Re: Inline 1098 engine
The good thing about that build is that it uses all the easy to find bits.
Good thing too, as I'm fed up tripping over those superchargers and Alloy heads, so it'll use up some of them too.
