Cavity wax for sills

Hello,

I'm would like to inject cavity wax for my mini mk1 sill,

It's in good condition, but I would like to prevent rust.

The only way to inject wax into sills are the vents,

But the hose can't exceed 6mm maximum,

Do you know where I could find the right injector?

I used Bilthamber Dynax S 60 which is supplied with a 600 mm thin flexible nozzle which is smaller than 6 mm in diameter.

Edit . That should be Dynax S 50.

I think I will buy DINITROL 3125 spray,

My sills are solid, and when we sandblasted the car 2 years ago, it was perfect, without any external rust, I fink there is some minor rust inside,

Can I put the cavity wax directly?

I don't want to put rust converter it's "S**T!!

But some people say, that you can't pu cavity wax on minor rust,
What is your opinion?

Interesting subject.
I have seen garden type pump sprayers with a long flex hose but can't source them at the moment

I have said it before but wax oil in certain places is great stuff, but I have found its not the best idea in the sills. The most important area to stop rust is in the join between the sill and the floor. Wax oil wont penetrate in to the welded joints where oil will. Wax oil when set will stop any oil penetrating the joints if sprayed afterwards.
I use WD 40 where possible and wax oil ( thinned with paraffin ) on the floors etc.

we made up our own form of coating as we found waxoyl to set after a while, so we mixed old engine oil up with some grease, works and it cost us very little

Here are some pictures. This isn't an early car but the idea is the same.
This car is a 1998 which I sold at 6 months old. I did every mini I sold and it did help. But now I can see the flaw, the wax didn't get to where you really needed it. It protected the parts it did cover though. The car has recently had work done.









As you can see, if the sills are full of thick wax, further oil sprays with thin oil wouldn't get through.

Cables engine oil and grease sound interesting but messy.

It's better to put wax that to let it it without anything,

I will put some RESTOM wax, and I found a 6mm spray gun!! so it,'s perfect!

If it was my car I would spray it with some type of wax, but I would spray in some oil first so it can seep between the sill to floor join.
