Downton badge

Post by UHR850 »

Hi guys, some time ago there was someone who made a new DOWNTON looks like it was used on the engine for years.
I did try to find it but could not find it any more. Please tell me again :D

Thanks,

Kees

I have seen Downton badges with different coloured backs. I have seen green, blue, white & black.

I don't believe that these are original paint fills though, I am 99.99999999999999999999% certain that these have been done by the owners.

There's a bloke in Wellingborough who apparently owns some sort of right to make certain Downton stuff.....(or was it Speedwell? I'm not sure).
And don't worry Mark, he's not some sort of Walter Mitty type like someone else we know. His name is Stuart "Something" and he owns a company called LMA and quite a few others http://www.lmaperformance.com/ Give him a ring - he's a nice bloke who knows about all this brand right thing (that I have never really taken a personal interest in).

LMA have the rights to some of the shinier end of the old Speedwell catalogue. Carb finishers, gear lever extensions etc.

Don't think they have any interest in Downton. All that is claimed by Chris Thacker who bought the Downton name off The ********* brothers.

I think it was done with sandpaper to make it a bit less shiny ?
