1275 GT

Post by minidean »

Im thinking about getting another mini and I want something quick. There doesn't seem to many/any cooper S's around so I was contemplating looking for a 1275GT? A friend of nine had on in the 80s and I always thought it was really cool? Anyone got any advice about these cars or even one for sale?

the only advantage, you have enough place to fit an eight port. ;)

always had a soft spot for the early ten inch wheel ones, in typical lurid early 70's colours

They are fast appreciating now and pushing the £5k bracket it would appear without problem

Nice early GT's or just nice unmolested GT's are getting just as rare as Coopers nowadays , 10" wheel cars are about the same money as early Mk1 850s. Do your homework Dean before parting with any wonga, gen up on trim (different than Clubman) etc etc.

I have a 76 GT solid condition with original interior(not currently fitted) in "Antique Gold" really retro - doubt you will find another?
I have a set of 10" rostyles too.

May part with it, needs a recommission as been in my garage a few years and a repaint,

76, had they not moved over to 12's by then ?

I thought the gt's went on to 12 inch wheels when rod change came in.

Like that colour as well

where in the country are you ? miles away likely lol

April 1974 was the change from 10"s to 12"s

Rod change = around a year & some months earlier = late 72/early 73.

Single bolt = as pr std Mini = 1976 (together with the larger pedals)

Me and my friend are of the opinion, that unmolested GT's soon will become as desirable as Cooper's early ones certainly
