The clutch master cylinder has been changed since 1980 so there's a little literary chancing in the history somewhere. Interesting to note though, that it must have been done way before originality had become essential in the restoration game , I.e. someone must've just wanted to drive it. And that gives it a little bit of unique history of its own, don't you think......or not?

As a 1966 Cooper S it must have been dry converted in some state. Also the Brake Servo must have been changed, as its not iron cast anymore. Unfortunately the engine number is missing too. So its not really one of those untouched barn finds.

Looks like a 1960 ish shell? Has the recessed windows but early wiper motor and chassis plate on bulkhead like early CKD minis in New Zealand

Looks to me as though it might have started out as a Cooper, thats very much a buyer beware car. Its funny the front 'S' badge and all the back badges are missing, also should there be an angled support for the oil cooler. To many questions on that car for me to feel comfortable about it.

Mk3 S Head

Looks like it has had some body work carried out on the n/s

It's a bitsa maybe someone was trying to pass it of as an S back in the day, folks have been faking them for many many years. Not just the last decade or two.

I've known people claim their money back before now (in court though!) for the ..how can we say it nicely...an inaccurate description. I'm sure the auction house will have a disclaimer though.
