Colour confusion?

Post by 2010rjd »

According to factory literature 1959-60 MK1s were available in 3 colors which varied by Austin and Morris. Old English White is listed as a Morris color, with Farina Grey being the Austin counterpart, with each marque having a shade of red, and a shade of blue, yet on the 1959 Mini Register site they have in their gallery of examples what they list as an Old English White '59 Austin.

My question would be is this a typo or was Old English White used on both Austin & Morris Minis during '59-60??

I thought the same. But I thought I would ask since many use their rather helpful site for ID purposes.

Ian has now changed it to Farina Grey.

As Trevor & I provide all the info to Ian to put on the site I guess it's Trevor's fault!

I'm glad it proves helpful and thanks for the kind words.

Thank you for pointing out the error, we do our best to get it right but we do make mistakes, we are very grateful to anyone who does help out with finding the mistakes. It has also spurred me on to update some of the car galleries, they are quite out of date now. Cars changed hands & restored cars still listed and being restored! So thank you again. I can only imagine the huge amount of time Mark spends updating this site, ours takes up lots of time and it's a fraction of the size.

Thank you for work that goes into that site. It is not unappreciated. It has proved repeatedly to be an invaluable tool to me and I am quite sure to many others as well.
