Yes Enzo had a few Mini Coopers but not necessarily coach built, also I don't see any differences between the two silver cars in the two photos other than the wheels (taking into account the different angles and the very grainy nature of the shots). So what are the differences ?

Main "difference" is the front panel / wing seam. But as you say it could be due to low resolution images.

I suspect that due to the lighting, angle of shot and grubby image that the seam's "disappeared" from view, they look like the same car to me. I think the line of the quarter light runs in line with the petrol pump as well so is possibly there. There again my eyesight's not what it was ! Incidentally Steve Harris said recently that the car didn't have any work done at Downton, just checked over and delivered .

I think the indicator is slightly further out on the later car - and the shroud ends up a bit longer and more tapered. I am sure you would see the seam in that photo if it was there.

I also believe they are the same car. Both silver and both early mk1 shells with the same lights on the front. Why would he get 2 cars converted by a coachbuilder to the same spec within a short time frame.

Yep thats a very early Hooper dash, the same dash is fitted to princess Margaret's 1071 Hooper

The Red car has innocenti doors which were not made until after the mk1's. It's also a hydrolastic car which would not have had a full skirt front panel. ??????

It definitely looks like it has hydro pipes. I don't think the front panel is an issue as it looks like it has been changed.

I am however starting to err on the side of believing this is what it claims to be.

That's an interesting point, anyone ever owned a hydro car with a full skirt ? I've heard of several.

There's another BMC one off with a very similar interior, it's a long time since I saw it maybe 10 years or more, if I remember correctly a '65 Austin with a 998 engine built by apprentices for a director of BMC. Carlton Grey with dark red interior, reg COH800C I think. The same Microcell? seats and the same trim pattern, from a big Healey? It would be interesting to learn more about these one off cars, I would imagine the factory had the skills to do just about anything in the 1960's
