primary gear running clearances

Post by Speedwell Sprint »

What's the running clearance of the primary gear on the crankshaft. Mine is .005 and .006, I think this is too much?

Section A.18 in BL workshop manual AKD4935 states the following 'the primary gear bushes must be line-reamed to 1.3775 to 1.3780 inches (lubricated bushes only)'.

I don't have the diameter for the crank tail, but this should give an idea of the specified running clearance.
