I built my mk1 as a rally replica between 2002 / 2004 and have used it ever since, as chairman of the A' Herts, beds and Bucks mini club I have been an active member of the mini community for over 20 years, yes I'm that old now, my first show was mini 30 way back in 1989.
Like many older (I'm now 50) mini owners I first got into them as a cheap means of transport then over the years my affection for them grew into an obsession.
I've owned Many, scrapped a few and now seem to be forever repairing / fixing them.
My first was a clubman. I thought at the time it looked like a mk2 escort from the front and the bell nose looked dated.
That was way back in 1985, now I've owned so many I've lost count. And no I don't still think the bell nose is dated.
I met my wife whilst driving a light green Mayfair, had a home built concoction when my first son was born, built a wide arched forthec a yellow one called low fat spread before my second son was born then two spi's a brand new cooper 35 and a string of others. So what's my favorite? Without a doubt my mk1 1963 rally car.
My mark 1
