twin carbs and manifold

A friend of mine has a pair of twin 1.25" carbs and a manifold and is looking to check the casting numbers. I checked a couple of books but no luck.

The manifold is a 12G299 - is this Cooper?

One set of carbs are AUC 1341 & AUC 1342

The other set of carbs are AUC 8450 & AUC 1342

Can anyone shed some light on this?

the 12g299 is a 1100 type manifold

The AUC numbers I think are carb body numbers and relate to whether they have a vacuum take off or not, to find what vehicle they were intended for you need the numbers from the tags on the float bowl lids.

The carb numbers do not relate directly with them having the dizzy take off or not. With and without (dizzy) take off, the numbers are the same, be it an early body (AUC134X) or later body (AUC87X).

AUC1341 & AUC1342 - respectively left & right hand bodies, 'matched', without balance pipe between them. If this is the pair with the 12G299 manifold then probably the right hand carb has the take off. The tags will be, again probably, AUD69. The linkages should be shorter than Mini linkages.

AUC8450 is an 850 carb body, it doesn't match the other AUC1342.

The only thing you can consider 'to be' Cooper are the AUC1341 and 1342 carbs (997/998 having the rh take off, S without take offs) as they were shared during a certain time. Float bowl grommets should be 20º on your friends but a mini should have 30º.

When I say probably is because it's the most common configuration around, there are other variations (float bowls, floating pieces, float tops, etc).
