action day advert on home page
just wondering if everyone else agrees what a brilliant looking advert that is , I was kind of hoping if there was enough people wanted them , mark might be persuaded to get a small batch of decals done and, after costs, proceeds going to the charity, am sure they would sell on the day aswell, a bit unique coz its the first mk1 performance track "do", hope mark agrees, what do you lot think ?

Mk1 Y fronts, now that's an essential accessory.

Nice idea, just change the '50 Years Of The Real Mini' to '55 years...', 55 years next year, that came round quick !slowboy wrote: mark might be persuaded to get a small batch of decals done

I would definitely be on the list for stickers.

I personally don't wear them pete, more of a tight support brief man myself but, I have to admit, when ready for action ,y fronts are easier to drive , if you know what I meanMk1 Y fronts, now that's an essential accessory.

I will certainly get some stickers done & will hopefully also have some Tee's by the time the action days comes. All proceeds to Mission Motorsport.

Re: action day advert on home page
Hi all,
I did that design a few years ago when Mark ran a little competition to design a sticker for the website (as you say Pete, hasn't time flown!!!) and I've still got all the originals on my computer. I'm happy to adapt it for the Action Day if you want me to, won't take long at all.
I could change the '50 years' wording to something relating to the event, or do it in different colors or something?
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: action day advert on home page
its a great design chris, I just think the colour and script etc looks so " in period", I was hoping the stickers would look exactly as that but with 55 yrs instead of 50

Re: action day advert on home page
Thanks!
Well I had a play round with the original design - see what you all think....
This first version is just a simple change of 50 to 55 and I put the event details at the bottom instead of the description of the website:
Then I thought it might be better to emphasise the event itself more, so I swapped that text round with the web address:
But then I got a bit carried away and inspired by some period stickers I came up with this, which I love!
Whaddya reckon? I love the round one and it's something a bit different to the original rectangular forum one.
I'm happy to play round with them a bit more if needed.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: action day advert on home page
that round one is great
the dark green car should be surf blue, just so it stands out a bit more though

Like the round one!
Only thing I'm not sure about is the red text - don't know if it is the font or the colour/brightness but doesn't look very 'period' to me somehow?

Re: action day advert on home page
I agree, I like the round one too, but am not sure about the colour / font of the lettering. I will be happy to do a new batch as it is 5 years since we did them last time.
Thanks again Chris.

Great thanks for the feedback everyone - I'll try a few other fonts and post them up later.

Re: action day advert on home page
I'm thinking of a road trip to England next May is now on the cards - I had been thinking of a weekend trip next Spring in the Mini so maybe I could combine the two!
I'd only be coming over for the craic and not putting the Traveller onto the track.
Hopefully I can make it happen.
(Love the round sticker design by the way - but as Mark and Graham say, the font and colours maybe would be better a bit more retro'd)
