Niki carburettor

Hi!

I have come across a Niki carb on an A-series inlet manifold. As the manifold is straight and not angled I think it is ment for a transverse engine. ie Mini or 1000 or 1300. The carb is marked: D30C4.
Do anyone have some knowledge about these carburettors?

Another great white hope carbureteur that had its day in the Sun bandied about as the magic carb for a mini, sometime around the mid to late 70s iirc. Funny how everyone ends up back at an SU or Weber.

ive found that the only advantage of a nikki carb is that the manifold is shaped in such a way that the nuts are very accessible, so it doesn't take long at all to remove it when you realise how rubbish it is.......

That's still 3 times as much as they were sold for originally.

I know a few people who have tried them, but don't know anyone who has used one for any length of time.

"niki carburettor" lol I remember them you could get them from your mum's catalogue back in the day.

They were a popular replacement on capri's and cortina's, when one was trying to rid their self of the infamous VV carburettor.
