KAD Remote Quick Shift Problem

Post by Lakeland997 »

Can anyone offer their thoughts on a fitting problem with the KAD quickshift on my remote change.
When the lever and new parts are fitted I can still lift the KAD seat by about 3mm
The bottom bush is fully seated in the lower lever and the relevant dimensions of the remote are the same as another one I have.
KAD are sending me another kit to try and even say they'll make up a special lever if necessary. Great service as mentioned by others on this forum.

Maybe your gearstick is from their first batch of "superultimatenomovementatallforagearchange" and the seat is their new revised ratio?
What's the distance from center to center on the balls on the gear stick

Looks like you are missing the distance piece 88G228. That would go under the black retainer plate.

No, that distance piece goes on top along with the plastic bush, spring and retainer.

I have now received a replacement kit from KAD and the gap has reduced to 1mm so it suggests a tolerance build up/variation problem.
I can't have any gap indeed it needs to be negative so that all the force is taken by the big ball on the lever and not transferred onto the shaft which will then wear the remote housing.

A spacer or special lever will be required so I've reported back to KAD.

I would really appreciate a photo of the way you mentioned when yours is all together. If mine is wrong I would like to correct it.

Thanks
