Re: 4 wheel drive
Apologies there Spider, had no idea the pic would cause such regurgitation!
We had another Ant owner present (He shall remain nameless for now) but he forgot to pack his Ant in his hand luggage. Travelled 6000 miles just to be with us and didn't bring the Ant. What an oversight!!!

Re: 4 wheel drive
I spotted Trevor's and Chris's Ants at the Pride of Longbridge
Rumour has it there will be a few more at the Gaydon BMC & Leyland Show (what was the Mini show) on July 7th.

Re: 4 wheel drive
You're correct in what you say. We will be at Gaydon on the 7th July. We're putting together a bit of an Ant display, I shall be taking my badly beaten Ant bodyshell (not the one in previous pic) and possibly some of the transmissions if I can figure a way to display them to good affect. I turned up a little later at Pride of Longbridge, would have been good to meet up.

Now now chaps, a little decorum in forum please!
Why don't you book your flights and come see? I'll put you both up for a while and you can see first hand what it's all about.

That sounds great, I wonder if Qantas would swap an airline ticket for one of my children?

Treckel, first thing I did was look in my diary when I read the dates, but alas, I'm tied up that weekend, otherwise I'd be on a plane right about now.Teckeldog wrote:Now now chaps, a little decorum in forum please!

Thanks for your very kind offer, I hope to take you up on it, likewise, if your ever in this neck of the woods, you'll be looked after

Re: 4 wheel drive
Disappointed in the pair of you......
I had expected a little Australian ingenuity in your chosen methods of transport. I mean, if nothing else, some slightly obscure way of stowing away on a plane. You can cajole a moke 3000 miles to the top of Australia, but you can't figure out a way get a free ride to UK, poor attempt. Get your escape comittee together and rethink your plans.
PS; a tunnel may not be the best choice (we tried one but came up in the wrong country!)
Shout up any time you get a real opportunity.
Trying for another photo shoot of componentry this week.
In touch with both NZ Ant owners and the Aussie one now.

Re: 4 wheel drive
I'd like to know more about the Aussie one, that is, if you can let us know without breaching the owner's confidentiality.

Re: 4 wheel drive
The guy has owned it since '78, the other one was scrapped off in'74.
It's currently stripped pending restoration. It's been like that for thirty years.
I'm waiting for pics and more info.
I've asked him and the other Ant owners what information of theirs can be made public, i'd at least like to put a name, rough location and brief details to each Ant and have freedom of photos. We'll see what happens.......

I don't mind going nowhere, as long as it's an interesting path.

Speaking of which, can you email me some recent ones of yours for the register, preferably with you in shot.

This is a pic of Ant 102 in Australia. This Ant was tested and trialled. After use by Leland Australia it was scrapped off in 1974

We'll be at Gaydon this Sunday with a display of Ants, I should have both of mine there and some mechanical parts. Come and have a look and introduce yourself.
