That makes two of us. Plumber's putty also appears to be the stuff used behind the wood on estates. I have a '61 Traveller that still has the putty on the body. It's still pliable and when warmed smells like plumber's putty.

I lined mine with the plumbers putty last night. It works great and is much more quite!!!!!! 

The faster you go... the smoother it is.
