Hello all.
Today i have been fitting my new stub stacks i brought recently of guru (very pleased as well)
Whilst doing this i thought i would check to see why i have trouble starting in the cold.
I found that the choke cable was not dropping the jet down.i have now taken all the slack out of the cable AND the canterlever of the mechanism..
I am not sure this is correct please can someone advise.
From what i can see the jets are fully up when the choke is pushed in so i assume it is ok but the choke is very stiff to pull out.

have you checked to see if the jets are bent?

Sounds like your choke cable needs oiling or it is snagging, Also oil all your linkage ,that's including the throttle cable, makes a big difference. Just leave a little slack in the cable ,If it doe's not go home fully at least the choke won't be on !! 3 in 1 oil !!
As Guru says check the choke tube and Jets ,If the engine as broke loose and the tubes it the bulkhead !!! Also make sure the Jets are central.

I have the same problem and I can fix it by shortening the return springs. This problem showed when I set the jet height as per Burlens instructions and the main jets sit higher, meaning the cable end of the choke arms is lower. The return springs do not have enough travel to cope. I try not to use the choke in the meantime and if I do, I have to push down on the arms to return them after the engine has warmed up.
