Length of boot lid cables...

Was the length of the boot-lid cables ever chancged during Mini's production?

I found a NOS set of cables that are about 2 or 2-1/4" shorter than the MS reproduced sets (and originals of a Mk 4/5 car)...

Did they have a tag on, with the BMC/BL sparepart number ?

If not, then they could be for some other purpose, as I understand it, are all Mini boot cables the same length.

ive found some very early cars had shorter cables

only by about an inch though

Canadian cars from about 74 to 1980 with the Big ugly Canadian bumpers had shorter cables .If the longer ones were used , the bumper would hit the body.
I can measure one if if needed.
