Hello, I recently bought a mini Marcos which was converted in 1973 from a 1962 hornet. They car came with the original green logbook which states that the car was reshelled into a Marcos in 1973 and a new log book was issued. All the paper work I got was 4 previous mot's from the mid 70's, the old old green log book and the original bill of sale for the shell.
Now, i have applied for a upto date log book and the dvla have kindly cashed the £25 cheque and I though wer hey that was straight forward (this being the first time I've had to apply for one) and yesterday I got a letter saying they will have to inspect it first before issuing a new log book as there are some discrepancys or something and I'm awaiting hearing back from my local office for where and when for the inspection. Now when I got it back the first thing I did was strip it down to a bare shell to shove it up out the way and get on with renewing the running gear and leaving the shell till later on this year when it warmer.
My question is, when they inspect it will it be a lot more straight forward if I put it back together? Bearing in mind a lot of stuff from the "original car" has long since been renewed.. What is my best way of dealing with this as a lot of people don't have a clue what a mini Marcos even is! So are the local bloke at the office going to be funny with me about it?
Any advice from you if you have had similar experiences id be ever so great full of the insight as I'm worried they may want it scrapped, sva'd or even Qplate it... Urghhh!
Cheers
