Indicator stalk ends....
I've met a guy today who makes and fits new ends complete with bulb to Mk1 Indicator stalks. The job he does is fantastic.
If you want to know more, get back to me, however, I have given him details of this forum, so I expect he'll be along shortly......
It may be worth Mark F gathering together some orders and I'll get a batch sent to him.

I'd be interested. The switch in my woody feels perfect, but the end is gone. There was someone in NZ making repro ends but I lost the link.

This guys stalks are fantastic. I used to buy them in bulk at one time, but lost contact some years ago.
A 100% excellent solution to that horrible cracked faded indicator stalk end.

I'd like one for my '60! I just repaired the one in my Riley Elf, but the guy that made the repair kit that I used has long passed away and this was the last kit on the shelf from my local Mini shop.

I've made a few of them out of black nylon, pretty simple if you have a lathe. I think the lens thread is 7/16" UNF from memory.

I'm hoping to get to see the guy on Saturday, if I do, I'll get some figures from him. Probably best if I get a batch sent to Mark for the UK and Europe and if there is any interest here, I'll look after it.

Re: Indicator stalk ends....
Well, I've just got back from having my indicator stalk end replaced and I have to say I am 100% satisfied...! Each end is individualy hand made on a lathe out of solid special plastic. The machining process is quite complicated and once finished, they look identicle to the original but will never crack or fade. They come with an LED that is wired ready to solder in place. Instalation is quite straight forward. The cost, whilst not cheap circa $60.00* is, in my opinion well worth it. It'll keep the original stalks alive for much longer and there is no need to buy one of those crappy repros that are on the market at the moment.
Oh, just so you know, they come without the green lens.
Anyone interested, please PM me....
Mark
* P&P will of course be extra.

I didn't realise these were so rare.
I bought about 10 nos in original Lucas bag a while ago, will try and find them in the garage.

Re: Indicator stalk ends....
I've made a few, very easy to make if you have a lathe. I don't think there is much need for an LED, the original style bulbs last for years.

Re: Indicator stalk ends....
Hi AL. If you ever changed your mind about the LED's I have a friend in Chch that makes them for minis / morris minors. About $20NZ from memory with the LED wired and with green lens. I have not seen one so can't comment on the green lens.
Re: Indicator stalk ends....
Hi Steve,
I am not against LED's, just wonder whether it's worth the work. I have someone who wants me to make a knob so find out more about the local one please and let me know.
