Rockers on 8-port
Hi
does anyone know what type of rockers have been used on the 8-port heads from Arden and Weslake in 1970? Have it been the forged Cooper S (1.22:1) ones, the latter pressed steel (1.27:1) ones to be used in the Cooper S mark III, or those still mentioned in my old Leyland folder to be available at that time, the AHT436 (1.5:1)?

Thanks! But this was not a technical question but a question about what FIA will allow. That means, what was used in 1970. I have no idea how to argue with this part.
Best regards.

Hi,
no date, just called FIA Form of recognition C-AKD 7955. Later on was written: A complete rocker shaft assembly fitted with special high lift rocker arms is available and will give a further improvement to performance. This part C-AHT 436 is advised only for full race engines.

Rockers on 8-port
On the Weslake heads, they were Standard "S" ones, with spacers in between.
Not sure on the Arden
Hope that helps?

Re: Rockers on 8-port
Thank you! Not really. The S ones mean 1.23:1, the pressed steel ones 1.27:1 and the C-AHT 436 ones 1.5:1. More is better, is more power. The homologation sheet says nothing. Therefore I am struggling how to explain the marshals if they will ever ask.
Re: Rockers on 8-port
These are the pictures of my 8 port Arden car, which was once owned by Jim Whitehouse. The rockers are 12G1222ME forged rockers, they also used the press rockers which Jim Whitehouse welded the tops and bottoms. Its important to use the correct rocker shaft posts. There are a number of other rockers that could also be used but the best ones Jim found to be are the 12G1222ME's.

we are just getting a set of the c-aht436 mechanical type rockers redone to suit the Arden head, the posts are different to the ones used on the five port.
please note, these are my own, individual sales, nothing whatsoever to do with my employer, minispares
