The only issue is that the version which they currently produce has all-pvc wiring rather than the original braided and pvc mix, although with the correct braided outer covering. I recently asked them about producing a loom with with braided wiring and and was advised that there was no reason why they couldn't do one so I might speak to them again about this again - particularly if anyone else needs one too.
Nick I need one too for my 63 1071, so we might be able to get a couple of them ordered to keep the price down?
Nick and Masnarda/T Please keep in the loop as I'll need one also.

It should be fitted as this.

Scott was your voltage regulator screwed directly onto the cross-member or does it have the plastic inserts that fit in the square holes like fuse box has?

Hi T.

Many reasons I have not touched my mini.
Time is a big one. Details not a problem,

I got another reply from Autosparks saying their part number 324 has the longer leads.

Do minispares do this? Rich? :) Your freight is cheaper :o

I'll let you know.

Your holes are in the exact same position as mine so that's cool.

Thanks for the pics Scott, good to hear that Steve's regulator also is mounted in exactly the same location.

After some e-mails with Simon @ minispares hes now going to stock this loom. Hes ordered 2 from Autosparks. I'm getting one of them. I'll report back when it arrives.

Hi Steve,

I wasn't sure you got the PM, glad you did. If autosparks use braided wires for hydro looms, can't see why they were using plastic covered wires on dry looms. It would be nice if new dry looms for Minispares were braided.

My car is in that stage where it's almost there but not quite yet. It's the small details left to the end (steering column earth problem; paint the jack and do all the retouching; adjust suspension, steering, timing and carbs; waiting response from newton about my boot board which is too large and doesn't fit between the tanks; go to the paint guy to pick up the bonnet stay hoping he hasn't lost it and has it painted, get everything ready for MOT, etc). It seems it could all be done very quick, but all together will not be that fast. Not when I only work on it on Saturdays.

As Ricardo stated it would be optimum if they supplied braided wire as supposed to pvc. "Lets hope"
Thanks for all the special interest. :o

I've been told it will be braided. Its something I insisted on.

I'm still a bit confused though as to where these longer reg wires go. I've seen photos of them going over the top of the air intake hose but then press photos of 1071's where the wires are not over the top of the hose.

Thoughts?

The mini I have hasn't been disturbed as far as I can tell so I assume its correct. I would like to view some press photos maybe you could show me where to find them.
Thanks

Thank you Rene for the pictures.
A bit hard to see with the bulk head insulation in place.
There is some part of the loom that is visible.
Let me compare mine with the great photos.
Thanks again Scott ;)
