rear bearings...

Post by tedmcedd »

hey guys,

fitted my rear bearings but didnt tighten up the hub nut, remembered that today and looked in the good old haynes and torqued it to 60 as stated, the hubs seem tight now however... has it got something to do with the taper bearings ive put in which arent the same?? is it ok as it is?? or is there a new torque setting for these ones?

dont over tighten them, just do them to feel. A little bit of play is ok!

I always do the rear hubs up hand tight then on to the next split pin hole. This tip was passed on to me by KAD.

Prior to this I was getting through rear wheel bearings fairly often, haven't had any go since.
